As someone who has personally navigated the depths of this issue caring for a mother I loved and adored and yet watched slip away before my very eyes, I longed to find a path or instruction manual to find joy and silver linings amongst the sadness and stress of one of life's most difficult seasons. This book is both those things and so much more!!! Laura absolutely nailed it with this. Nothing else is out there on the topic approaching it in anything except a very dry and clinical way. There is nothing else out there that takes the human factor of relationships and lifetime experience into account and values that. Believe me. I have looked for ages. Thank you Laura Anthony. Thank you. The Most Important Lesson is compelling, personal, grounded and innovative. I have taken the techniques from this book and applied them now with my father who is a stroke survivor with many cognitive impairments now living in an Assisted Living Facility. It has paved the way to a new and healthier interaction between us. I am getting answers to questions that will create a written record of his legacy. Jotting all of them down is giving me more insight into what his life long learning has been. It also provides some precious family history for the youngest generation of our family who may not otherwise have a chance to know their grandfather while he is alive.
